These beautiful Vintage beads are handmade in Ghana. The beads are called Krobo Bead Necklace and made from Powdered Glass Beads.

On my visit to Ghana this summer , I visited Somanya where traditionally these Nasra are made. Somanya is a town and the capital of Yilo Krobo District, a district in the Eastern Region of south Ghana. These beads are in made from several glass bottles and other glass items that are pounded into fine powder. Once pounded they are mixed with color and poured then poured into different size moulds. When they are been poured into the moulds, patterns are created then before they are put in the fire. Once heated, holes must be made in each bead to enable treading. Once baked they are removed and left to dry. Once dry, they are cleaned and organized by color and pattern for threading into beautiful necklaces , bracelets , armlets, anklets etc. 

These are always traditionally made adjustable with tie for for your convenience in size adjustment.
